Custer County Beef School March 14th

REMINDER!!

The last Winter Beef School of the season is scheduled for Monday, March 14th in Challis.

Two important topics facing cattlemen will be covered at the Beef School on Monday night: Keeping newborn calves healthy and purchasing bulls for the upcoming breeding season.

Kicking off the evening will be Dr. John Hall, University of Idaho Extension Beef Specialist, who will discuss “Buying Bulls by the Numbers”. Dr. Hall will cover the ins and outs of utilizing Expected Progeny Differences (EPDs) when selecting bulls for your cowherd.

Concluding the night’s program will be Dr. James England, DVM, with the University of Idaho Caine Veterinary Teaching Center. Dr. England will discuss newborn calf management, calving problems, and give producers tips on how to keep your cows and calves healthy throughout the calving season.

Social hour begins at 6:30 pm, with the program starting at 7:00 pm in the Back Room at the Y-Inn Café in Challis. Registration is free.
