2011 Western Idaho Winter Wheat Nursery Results

Dr. Brad Brown and his co-workers have completed the processing of the 2011 Extension winter cereal nursery samples. The results for spring wheat and barley and the protein results for all are still in the works.  Read on the the results!

Two irrigated winter wheat nurseries were established (Parma early-Oct 6; Parma late-Nov 17).  Fall planted barley was included at only the early planted Parma site.  The late planted nurseries were purposely planted late to evaluate variety performance under late planting conditions such as occur after late corn, potatoes or sugarbeets. 

One dryland trial was established at Parma.
