NCAT, USDA-NIFA and other partners presented what has
proven to be a very popular webinar earlier this year -- "Urban Farms:
Commercial Farms or Socially Minded Operations."
Coming up on January 15, we will be hosting another free
webinar -- "Managing Risks on an Urban Farm." In it the managers of
two small, successful urban farms of less than three acres discuss the
strategies their risk management strategies. They are Greg Maslowe of Newton
Community Farm in Newton, MA, and Eric McClam of City Roots Urban Farm in
Columbia, SC. NCAT Sustainable Agriculture Specialist Andy Pressman will be the
webinar facilitator. (Webinar will be recorded. See below)
We thought your staff and students might be interested in
attending.
The attached information has more details about he
webinar. In case you should happen to get a copy of this email that doesn't
have the attachments, you can go to https://attra.ncat.org/managing_risks/
for more information or to register.
It's also worth noting that the webinar will be recorded
and posted on the website of NCAT's ATTRA program at www.attra.ncat.org in case someone would
be interested but can't make it to the webinar itself.
And if you know of anyone who might be interested in what
promises to be an interesting and real-world discussion, we'd appreciate it if
you could pass this message on.
