"Managing Risk on an Urban Farm" Free Webinar Jan15th

NCAT, USDA-NIFA and other partners presented what has proven to be a very popular webinar earlier this year -- "Urban Farms: Commercial Farms or Socially Minded Operations."

Coming up on January 15, we will be hosting another free webinar -- "Managing Risks on an Urban Farm." In it the managers of two small, successful urban farms of less than three acres discuss the strategies their risk management strategies. They are Greg Maslowe of Newton Community Farm in Newton, MA, and Eric McClam of City Roots Urban Farm in Columbia, SC. NCAT Sustainable Agriculture Specialist Andy Pressman will be the webinar facilitator. (Webinar will be recorded. See below)

Grower's Own Conference and Pollinator Protection Shortcourse Set for Feb 7-8

Caldwell, ID - Farmers interested in enhancing the free pollination and pest management services of pollinators and beneficial insects are invited to attend a Friday, February 7 short course in Caldwell. The short course will be followed by the fifth annual Grower's Own Conference, a farmer-to-farmer exchange and networking event, on Friday evening and Saturday, February 8.
