Irrigation in a Short Water Year, Monday March 9th

With the Big Lost River Basin at 85 percent of normal and the Little Lost River Basin better at 98% of normal snowpack, it looks like it might be a second challenging year for some irrigators.  To help irrigators cope with the possible reduced amounts of irrigation water, the University of Idaho Extension will present a two hour program on Monday, March 9th at 6:30 PM in suite 204 of the Arco Butte Business Incubation Center.

Time is Running Out for New Farm Bill Elections!

Time is running out to make your elections under the 2015 farm bill!

Must choose WFRP and SCO by March 15, 2015:
Must choose ARC or PLC by March 31, 2015 (1 time for the life of the 5-year farm bill) :
Must have a signed AD-1026 form on file with FSA by June 1st, 2015

In addition you have an opportunity to update your cereal base acreage, which happens only infrequently.

The University of Idaho Extension will be offering a Canning Workshop March 3, 10, 17 24 and April 7th.  The class will be held March 3, 10, 24 and April 7th from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Arco Butte Business Incubation Center at 159 N Idaho in Arco.

beef Quality Assurance Training and Certification Feb 24th


University of Idaho in cooperation with Brigham Young University-Idaho (BYU-I) will be offering a Beef Quality Assurance training and certification on Tuesday February 24th, ,beginning at 5:00 PM.  The training and certification will be held at the BYU-I Livestock Center at 5350 Hwy 33, Rexburg.
